Walk for Wisdom to show support and raise funds for education in South Sudan

Congratulations and thank you! By participating in the Any1Can Walk for Wisdom on April 20 at Bushwick School for Social Justice, you are making a difference in the lives of 300 students in Unity State, South Sudan.

Use the tools and templates on this website to build a personal Walk for Wisdom fundraising page and join the BSSJ Walk for Wisdom Fundraising team!

BSSJ has set a fundraising goal of $2,000 for the Walk for Wisdom. That means they need 20 students to raise $100 each by asking friends and family to support their participation in the Walk for Wisdom with a donation!

Just think - you could be one of those 20 students and with just donations of $10 from 10 friends or family members, you'll help BSSJ reach its goal!

When you use your personal fundraising page to reach out and rally your friends, family, and social networks to help support your walk with a donation, you're helping supply more than 300 elementary school student in South Sudan with:

• LIGHTS! Solar lights for the families of children attending these schools
• LIBRARIES! Books and educational materials for school libraries
• LUNCHES! Nutritious school lunches for 300 students, five days a week

QUICK TIPS TO HELP YOU RAISE MONEY

Here's some quick tips to help you create an AMAZING personal fundraising page for the Walk for Wisdom:

Make a Goal! Here are some goals you can set:

• $10 = One book for a school library
• $30 = Three books for the library
• $60 = A solar light for one student and two books for the library
• $100 = Lunch every day for one child for one year

Make a List! Make a list of friends, family, people from community organizations you belong to and your church, mosque or synagogue who might sponsor your Walk for Wisdom. People will donate because they care about you and what you're doing to make a difference in the world!

Make an Ask! Use the email and social media templates on your personal fundraising page to contact each person on your list and ask them to sponsor your Walk for Wisdom. You can also communicate face-to-face and collect cash or checks from your supporters.

When your supporters donate online, the money will go directly to Mothering Across Continents℠. You will receive an email with your donor's information so that you can send them a personal THANK YOU (right away)! If you collect donations via cash or check, make sure you put them in an envelope with your name on it and bring the funds to your school's Walk for Wisdom event. There will be a table for you to turn in your donations at the Walk for Wisdom.
